The benefit concert entitled “The Wheel – A Musical Celebration of Jerry Garcia” was a historic night that offered a unique musical experience where artists, many of whom shared a deep connection with Garcia that dated back to the early 1960s, had the opportunity to play Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter and traditional American roots songs together. This once-in-a-lifetime collaboration of artists featured Jesse McReynolds, Peter Rowan, and David Nelson, along with members of their respective bands which included Garrett McReynolds, Steve Thomas, Jody Stecher, Keith Little, Paul Knight, Barry Sless, Robin Sylvester, John Molo, Mookie Siegel, and special guest Matt Butler of The Everyone Orchestra.

"Yeah, very impressed and grateful for all the songs that ease the soul. Taking the new celebration CD to the Shakedown (parking lot) for the whole scene to enjoy @ the Furthur show in Hampton, VA. Hope to see you there."

" Today is the first time i've cried during a "grateful dead" song in ten years. Standing On The Moon had the tears flowing. FREE music! Thank you for the listening party. I first thought it was just Black Muddy River.... But no, NUGS.net gave us the whole concert...Full songs....not samples....Is today christmas? I've been singing along all morning. On a side note; It's still freezing here in upstate western NY. Isn't winter over?"
