Show Notes

*This was the 29th time that Metallica has performed in Chicago and the surrounding areas in Northeastern Illinois and the second of two shows at Allstate Arena on the current World Magnetic Tour.

*Metallica’s love for Chicago shows.  They routinely schedule multiple nights in the city.  Their first multiple night run was on the Wherever We May Roam tour in December of 1991with three nights at the Rosemont Horizon (which later became Allstate Arena).

*This was the first time in almost 12 years that Whiplash was performed in Chicago.  It was last played on February 8, 1997 at Rosemont Horizon on the Poor Touring Me tour.

*This was the first time in over five years that For Whom the Bell Tolls was performed in Chicago.  It was last played on July 26, 2003 at Hawthorne Racetrack on the Summer Sanitarium ’03 tour.

*This was the seventh time that Fight Fire With Fire was performed in Chicago.  It was first played in Chicago on December 15, 1983 at the Chicago Pavilion.  They played TWO sets that day, during the day and at night, and Fight was a part of both sets.
