"I was there, about 20 feet to the right of tower 4. JBS and the Dark Clouds lit the place on fire and melted faces during their 75 minutes (which probably seemed like a warm up to them). They definitely upped the energy level and in my opinion, had an effect on Dead and Co. Don’t get me wrong, Billy Strings was great the night before as the opener but it’s like comparing camping fuel to nitroglycerine. Third time I’ve seen them this year. Sturgill puts his heart into the vocals and the music every time. The band are pros. "

"Sturg absolutely seized the moment during Clockmaker when he spit his quote then blasted Bulls on Parade in Golden Gate F%cking Park!!! I watched that moment win over any skepticism left in the crowd! Doesn’t get much more California cool than that! (7:00 mark on Clockmaker for the win)"

"Full Disclosure: I was very fucking high. Like , high altitude stoned, during this show. But I wanna throw my vote out there that this is the best Johnny Blue Skies show. The mix, the band was tight, the hair pin turns around the jams in the middle of the set, truly a mystical experience. I don't think any show comes close to how incredible the band was on this one."
