"leave it to the bisco fan to say this show was average."

"I thought the entire run was sick, 12/29 was no slouch. Kitchen/snucka/HBB/Nemo were sick, i cant wait to hear the rest of the run. Support live music, UM Rocks face."

"I`m in some agreement with all of you. I was on the rail the first two nights and sat in the balcony for new years. All in all the show was good but having been seeing UM since the beginning I can say that I thought they added in a lot more metal to the show than they usually do. I attributed this to the overall age of the crowd. I`m an old school dead, phish fan I`m not big on the metal stuff. I listen for the funky grooves that they get going or when Brendan and Jake get some good back and forth jam going. There were moments during this show that were some of the best music I heard all weekend. The song where Jeff came out and played sax was the funkiest song of evening. I was glad to see he didn`t play the whole show with them this year like he did last year. Kinda ruined the second night of the new years run for me last year. I enjoy the horns for a song or two but not the a majority of the shot it takes the band out of it`s rhythm. I met some nice people on the rail this weekend though that pointed out to me I`ve seen so many UM shows that I`m hella critical of their music because I`ve been seeing them for so long. For instance a friend of mind got to hear her first front porch this run and she`s a much bigger fan than I. I did feel old though for a moment when I looked back from the front row and the crowd looked like it was about 12. I felt like my little section were the only ones really dancing and getting into the music. After that I didn`t look back again just watched the show."

"Yeah, this show was pretty good but nothing special......second set and encore was definitely the best, but the second night was absolutely ridiculous - Great show on the 30th - especially the second set. As for people just going there to do drugs...you have to take the bad with the good. I`ve been going to jam bands since I was 17 and no matter what there will always be people just going there to get high and not appreciating the music. You just have to find a good place on the floor with cool people jammin out and you can enjoy your time - regardless of what other people are doing."

"Josh, chill out. This show ws pretty average and the crowd was awful. Stick with NYE or the 30th. "

    "best song = padgetts profile"

    josh 1/5/2008 8:34:23 PM

"for all of you that say the show sucked casue of young kids go fuck yourself im mean im 17 and fuck i hate all the young popel tehre they piss me off goingto the show forthe wrong reassons , to do drugs , theyare gay and all those kids are too so grow up and umphreys rocked like they always do and if you think differently go shoot yourself. btw drugs are cool"

    Aaron 1/5/2008 10:17:02 AM

"OMG this was sick -Steve i think you mean jimmy stewart and that is a drum pad myers is using."

    will 1/4/2008 8:49:39 AM

"Im in an idiot and should find a new band since i didnt like the 29th? pfft.... btw, alot of people didnt like the 29th, should they all stop going to shows?"

    2 x 2 1/3/2008 6:18:25 PM

"Will, i have downloaded and saw all 3, and believe it or not I still like the 29th, a lot, if u have seen 2 x 2 in your last 5 straight shows, do what i used to do when i was younger, tryin seein a run of shows in a row, since they don`t play 2 x 2 everyday this would probably work out...i saw the Grateful Dead play when i paint my masterpiece 43 times, and 2 x 2 is a way better tune, also, these reviews here, no matter the band, be it the Grateful Dead, Phish, moe., WSP, SCI, UM ect.. are about how the band performed, not a personal forum to Rip on a band b/c you have seen a song 5 times in a row and its not your cup of tea, drink coffee"

    Steve 1/3/2008 12:32:55 PM

"Does anyone know the name of the song that they kept throwing like techno/rave beats into..... keyboardist was using a drum machine???"

    front porch 1/3/2008 10:49:11 AM

"will your an idiot this was a good show and since youve seen 40 n didnt like it u might want to pursue a new band this is a spot to review not to criticize by the way i am a ways over 17 and it was my 25th show"

    Will 1/3/2008 9:35:23 AM

"2x2, that is great that you like the show. But it wasnt a good UM show, and if you dont think that they catered the show to an all ages crowd, you are out of your mind. Which is why i said the Hurt Bird Bath was great. I have seen 2x2 my last 5 shows in a row, so that was just not my cup of tea this night. Get NYE! "

    duece 1/2/2008 11:46:15 PM

"like many other um fans, i attend their shows in anticipation of kickass playing and songs i haven`t heard in awhile. unfortunately, i went to this show instead of the next night. oh well. it was still a good time. not the greatest performance, but the energy was undeniable. gotta love how higgins just keeps getting better and better. the padgett`s reminded me of the one from 4/21 which has been my fav turbocharged version. hartswick was a letdown. i know she`s married to someone on the crew and she can sing, but i paid to hear um, not hartswick and her crappy cover. this is a good show for newcomers. it`s understandable they would choose a setlist like this for a show with all the snot-nosed kiddies runnin amuck. did anyone else keep hearing baba o`reilly teases? that shit drove me crazy. rock on. gram parsons is alive and living in gatlinburg."

    2 x 2 1/2/2008 6:56:31 PM

"Hey Will, didn`t know the age of the crowd dictaded the show, and if you think the band looks out and thinks that way u have a lot to learn, but seeing 40 UM shows means you must know, right, i mean i haven`t seen as many cause i`m a bit older then 17...and you would think with the 93 Grateful Dead and 72 Phish shows I saw that I would have learned by now...., I will take a 2 x 2, Bird Bath, ect...anyday"

    dylan 1/2/2008 11:25:04 AM

"do not believe the post below me! every song from this show is played precisely. Jimmy Stew>In the Kitchen>Higgins>Padgett`s Profile is rediculous. The Nemo jam with Jeff Coffin will leave you speechless. Umphrey`s rocked a wiiiiild crowd for this one."

    will 1/2/2008 8:38:15 AM

"how anyone can say this show was epic is beyond me. This was one of the worst UM shows i have seen out of over 40. The crowd was maybe an average of 17 years old and had no manners for anyone around them. UM knew it and played a flashy although uninspired show. Every jam is metal-esque and there are NO solid grooves. The only highlights are Higgins, The Floor, and Hurt Bird Bath. Download the 30th or NYE for the real deal."

    Austin 1/1/2008 3:25:53 PM

"I thought the wailers were alright to kick the night off, although the security at the aragon was waaaay outta control, bustin people including me every which way for smoking. but yeah umphrey`s was epic as hell"

    josh 1/1/2008 2:33:17 PM

"you cant say umphreys is ever bad becasue they always play a good show. the best live band ive ever seen. song selection was dank and the show was awesome like every umphreys show is"

    Kevin 1/1/2008 12:42:57 PM

"Well Kyle Orton clearly you pay more attention to the scene rather than the music. What do you mean the "song selection was disappointing!" Their was so much good energy during the whole show and so many great upbeat songs. And for you to say that Jennifer Hartswick sucks is absolute bullshit. She is an extremely talented musician with a beautiful voice. You say that "we all know it too" but no we dont, you think umphrey`s would have someone who isn`t an amazing musician play with them? ABSOLUTELY NOT! The only complaint about this show is how young the crowd was and kids like you not appreciating umphreys` amazing music."

    Dave 12/31/2007 7:19:13 PM

"Solid evening for umphrey`s. The wailers were god awful but umphrey`s tore the place up for the most part."

    Kyle Orton 12/31/2007 12:29:56 PM

"The song selection left me a little dissapointed. Luckily, the playing makes up for it. The sound at the Aragon was not as bad as I thought it would be. The Floor is really starting to rock. Jenn Hartswick sucks. Sorry, but you know you`re all thinking the same. It took her forever to stop singing and just play her damn trumpet. Oh and hippies smell like ass. Grow up and get a fucking job you useless wastes of space. (If you consider yourself a hippy and you do work and bathe, please ignore this rant.)"

    Hunter 12/31/2007 9:21:24 AM

"I thought the first set kicked ass, but i felt that the second set was kinda lack luster up till the `snucka` and `jajunk`. Overall i enjoyed the show alot!"

    matt 12/30/2007 7:52:11 PM

"what a night. wailers were great and umphreys just fuckin ripped it. they were amazing. someone please tell me who that little kid was."

    Sarah 12/30/2007 6:49:10 PM

"It was awesome!!!! From start to finish the show amazed me, it blew my mind!!! Who was that little boy that was on stage because he was pretty awesome! Keep doin what you guys are doin because we love you guys!"

    umphreak 12/30/2007 12:03:23 PM

"SIIIICCKKEESSSTTT show ive seen from you boys yet! I have to come back and pick my face up off the floor! who was the litttle kid?? thats still bobbling my mind dr feelgood was great and nemo with jeff coffin was amazing im deffinately going to order all 3 shows keep up the good work boys"
