Mel Collins recalls that when what eventually became the Larks’ Tongues incarnation of the band was first being thought about, he was sounded out about joining up. As we all know, it wasn’t to be. Over forty years later however we can hear how things might well have worked out had he joined the team back then. Fans of symmetry will note that as the sax solo gets underway it fleetingly mirrors the shrill screeching that ushers in the piece,triggered by Pat and sampled from the original recording.
