"Does anyone remember the flying tortillas on the lawn during Bird Song/Dire Wolf? Fun times. Most people I've talked to IRL seemed like they attended this night. First set wasn't as captivating as the previous night but the second set is just perfect. Also really cool Nobody's Fault But Mine jam during NFA courtesy of John. "

"It's me Mike B- I hear it too. Somewhere around 11:50 and again 30 or so seconds later Jeff seems to refernce Who's Crying Now"

Steve 6/17/2022 6:35:52 PM

"Been around since late 60s and to hundreds of shows, mostly in SF. The Grateful Dead in the old days were fueled by cocaine and others, which accounts for some of the faster pace. Don’t live long continuing that. Enjoy the now, which is actually way better musically except for the improv jams to an increasingly lesser extent. Set lists are tighter with none of the gap breaks of yore."

"Jerry left the planet ‘95 and I miss his presence terribly, but I know he’s somewhere with that shit eating giggle and pirate smile ecstatic that this scene rolls on…. Try not to mind fuck every lick and enjoy the moment"

"Really digging Mayer’s raga beats at the end of SotM. This is all really solid, made mostly by the lack of strain in Bob’s voice now. Incredible set list too."

"SteveB I totally agree with you but this is how it is. Be grateful that we are still seeing and hearing the music you and I have been listening to since the late 70’s-80’s. If you want the fast days go see JRAD. Best “fast” Dead music around. Of course you don’t get the high production or Bob but that the best I have for ya. "

"Only took like 8 years? Kinda crazy these guys have been doing this the better part of a decade already. I can’t believe Bill made it back to us and sounds better than ever. Slow? Sure. But it’s tasteful and it’s jazzy as fuck. This is what I hoped for them. Just keep doing exactly this until you guys are ready for the changing of the guard. It’s blissful, it’s filled with spirit and it’s rocking when it needs to be. You love to see it. Very grateful. "

"Ok. Am I the only one who heard “Who’s Crying Now” by Journey 12 minutes into “Cassidy”?"

Balanced Voice 6/16/2022 11:04:46 AM

"@ RB Good stuff. ??"

rb 6/16/2022 9:47:31 AM

"@ Balanced Voice I knew it was going to stir it up with that comment. I do stir it up sometimes. Truth be told, I’ve been chasing the Jerry dragon for a very long time. I remember going up to Griffith Park in LA in August ‘95 and just crying my eyes out with all the other heads who were waiting for Fall tour to start and were just stunned. As Robert Hunter wrote that very week: If some part of that music is heard in deepest dream, or on some breeze of Summer a snatch of golden theme, we’ll know you live inside us with love that never parts our good old Jack O’Diamonds become the King of Hearts. And what I *actually* mean to say, having pulled my tongue out of my cheek, is that I respect John Mayer’s attempt to mine that deepest dream. This is the first time I’ve really truly heard that golden theme since 1995. When I was deep into the 6-2-95 He’s Gone up on the lawn that night, “Nothing’s going to bring him back” kept echoing in my head. A prophecy that seemed fulfilled that August. But in true Dead spirit, it’s a double entendre. Nothing did bring him back. He was brought back from nothing for a few glorious moments on a breeze of Summer, somewhere on a back porch in San Francisco on 6-14-2022. You know our love will not fade away."

"Someone threw the 'Jerry who?' grenade in here and I wanted to bring a balanced perspective on where we've been and where we are now. We live in a 'What have you done for me lately?' culture and obviously Jerry hasn't been actively contributing for a long while. He did, however, co-write most of the iconic music that this group is stewarding today. Jerry also sacrificed greatly in order to craft a cultural force with enough sticking power to support the scale of what we all take for granted now. GD music could have easily faded into oblivion without that fundamental contribution. It's the gift that keeps on giving for those of us who receive such profound spiritual nourishment from these songs. I also understand the heart of what the commenter was getting at. This music is alive, well and growing. This band is delivering what we've all been longing for. A present moment that is more than just an echo of what was. I was just at a PLF show the other night. A beautiful celebration of the music, yes... But a wellspring of spiritual energy it was not. I really feel the music when I hear D&C play. Thank you, Jerry, wherever you are, for making it possible."

Danc’n Deb 6/16/2022 7:27:03 AM

"I just love this being able to view the shows. Keep on keeping on fellas sounds beautiful lovely music.please keep the tunes flowing and thank you so much for the shoreline show it’s been a long time. Aloha ??????"

Jerry who LMFAO 6/16/2022 6:49:06 AM

"Worst review of all time, saying Jerry who at a Dead show is like saying Jesus who at Bible study COME ON ALREADY"

Moron 6/16/2022 12:24:27 AM

"“Jerry who” Frat guy who’s never seen a show and took way too much molly."

Dj 6/15/2022 11:05:34 PM

"The vocal harmonies on these songs are mind blowing. That Brokedown is so achingly beautiful and John really really stepped up his game on this show. They all did. A very very good show."

Dunc 6/15/2022 8:46:18 PM

"Amazing! "

JD 6/15/2022 8:39:36 PM

"Energy at the show was spectacular both nights but always feels slower on record. Jeff and John had us jumping and the drums was fantastic on Tuesday. They continue to bless the bay with magical sets.. wish I could follow to Boulder"

Esse 6/15/2022 8:23:14 PM

"Wowee! this is a good one! Such a beautiful show"

rb 6/15/2022 7:08:01 PM

"Slight Revision: Swap out “I’m so far down the Jerry rabbit hole it’s silly” for “Scorsese should pay me for detail.” Oh yeah, and I know where I’m going. California. Wait, already there. And it’s totally true what they say. You can check out anytime but you can only get Champagne on ice. No wine."

Steve B 6/15/2022 7:02:48 PM

"Preface; I love the Dead, and have seen them consistently from '78... but, I find the music insufferably slow. It's like GD on 'ludes. I love all the tunes. I love all the jamming. But the guys need a MAJOR jolt to get going. Almost like the old lady in the left lane doing 5mph under the speed limit. I know this may meet with some pushback, but just the way I see it."

Not as cool as rb 6/15/2022 7:01:18 PM

"rb you're the fucking tits, man. "Jerry who?" Classic, dude. "

rb 6/15/2022 6:18:09 PM

"@JB Yeah, heresy I know. Keep in mind I was on the Shoreline lawn in June ‘95 when Jerry belted out a Standing on the Moon so emotional you kind of get the feeling in retrospect he knew it was almost checkout time. I had some other thoughts last night too. That “wolf” reference in the first line of Cassidy presages the Dire Wolf a couple songs later. Hence the 1978 Estimated when Jer was playing the Wolf, not the Travis Bean TB500A (P90s not the 1976 humbuckers) from May ‘77. This is a conscious reference. Listen to 5-5-1978 and then go back to last night. Yes, I’m so far down the Jerry rabbit hole it’s silly. Maybe it was the Orange Sunshine this little gnome of a guy squeezed from an eye dropper into my IPA that night when the Gyuto Monks sat in on drums at Shoreline. What was I saying again? Oh yeah, Jerry who? But then again, the guy playing lead on Tennessee Jed is working a Gibson copy made in Maryland. Better get back to Tennessee? Now that I think about it, add an envelope filter to that triple humbucker Honey and you’ve got a wolfish growl. Werewolves indeed. Just don’t forget to split that coil. "
